About the event
The SOAP Recipe Project (Scholars' Opportunity to Address life Principals) is a group of educated individuals bringing elementary aged youth quality education via trips, speakers and programs. Most lessons are taught using a Black Liberation paradigm. Young scholars learn more about the many aspects of civics, business, environmental justice and life principles through hands on workshops. SOAP Recipe workshops are subsidized through funds generated by supporting local Black entrepreneurs.
They attend the African American Children's Book Fair in Philly every other year. They also host book talks, art tours and museum visits where they speak about Black History.
While in Philly, We will view Marian Anderson's House, the Liberty Bell, the U.S. Constitution, tour the Concord School House, attend the yearly African American Children's book fair and meet authors and illustrators and eat at the historic Booker Wright Restaurant (6:30-7:30pm).
